Chalet Evelyne is virtually adjacent to a blue piste with extensive artificial snow making capacity and in the centre of the whole Paradiski region in the lovely location in the moutain village of Les Coches. In the morning just 70 metres from the piste and at the end of the day normally you will be able to ski back to the front door on the blue piste. The chalet is built in traditional alpine style and the interior is finished in wood giving a warm and relaxed atmosphere. There are two comfortable lounges. One on the first floor which is extremely light and airy and the other lounge is on the ground floor with a natural stone built open log fireplace which adjoins the dining area. All bedrooms having en-suite facilities and there is WiFi internet access. Enjoy the traditional feel of a Savoyard chalet whilst benefiting from modern amenities.

The Village
With its traditional chalets with splendid views over the Mont Blanc, Les Coches has the advantage of being close to two of the Alps' largest ski domains - La Plagne and Paradiski, and with cable cars linking the resort to Arc 1800 and Belle Plagne, the skiing options are endless. Les Coches is an intimate, modern wood and stone village, which, unlike infamous earlier developments, has been sympathetically designed, to give the atmosphere of a traditional alpine ski village. There’s a selection of shops and restaurants with more at neighbouring Montchavin. The resort is traffic free, and offers children’s clubs and a nursery, so is a perfect location for families. For après ski activities there is a natural ice skating rink, games room, snow shoeing, paragliding and marked walking trails.
The Ski Area
Les Coches is an integral part of the huge La Plagne ski area, to which it contributes one of the finest stretches of skiing. It is now at the hub of one of the world's largest ski areas, accommodating one of the stations of the Vanoise Express, the cable car that links La Plagne to Les Arcs thus creating Paradiski. La Plagne is a collection of eleven linked ski centres at altitudes from 1250 to 2100 metres. For a family holiday, or a group of varied ability, it's ideal. It offers reliable snow and direct access to the magnificent Paradiski area which links La Plagne to Les Arcs with 425 kms of runs, three glaciers and tow peaks above 3000 m. Wide-open motorway skiing above the tree-line and gladed trails through the forest below it are the main features of the ski area. These are coupled with gentle beginner pistes and some truly outstanding off-piste if you know where to find it. You need a guide to discover the long, sweeping descent from the Glacier de Bellecôte down to Les Bauches, as well as the challenging Cul du Nant run from the back of the glacier into the Champagny-le-Haut valley. Boarders also have the park at Plagne Soleil to whet their appetites. |
